Life & Love

Life & Love

Its amazing how some people think you are smart sometimes and then try to play you for a fool
That's like trying to convince a person how book smart someone is when you know damn well they never went to school
One day they need advice, then the next day they think they know it all
If telling ridiculous lies is a phone, they are constantly making prank calls
Those are the type of people who never respected you regardless of what they say
Though it hurts at first, their true feelings for you were always on display
Then again, everything that feels good isn't always good for us
It's a fact that when we step back we realize certain things are a must
When "I" never turns into "we", it's a hint and a half for that ass
It should be an obvious clue to me and you that a relationship will never last
Therefore, It's time to go your separate ways, starting today
No shame, just not interested in the games; no longer willing to play
Though life and love is a game and it has always been
It's true that some people don't know the rules which makes it harder to win
So they sit on the side lines and never really get in the game
Life and love wasted, no one but themselves to blame; simply put, what a shame.

Bring On The Rearations

Bring On The Reparations

We were stolen from the villages of Africa and brought to this land
We were brought though we fought while being dragged in the sand
In route to and loaded on something we now call a slave ship
Shackled like cattle by a bunch of hypocrites
In the darkest of nights and roughest of seas
I wont deny they tried to strip us of our dignity
They raped my mama, my sister yet they called us niggers
We worked in the hot sun while they held guns with their fingers on the triggers
We had no shoes on our feet and most times nothing to eat
Still expected to work even though our feet hurt we got beat
By some man I didn’t know or like because he just raped my wife
In front of my children, now I have to kill him if it takes the rest of my life
I won’t tell anyone else because it’s a vow I made to myself
When I get the chance, I’ll change this man by making my presence felt
Not with violence but in silence, I’ll use the knowledge I’ve acquired
To extinguish the racist views he spews, yes I’ll put out the race fire
And since it’s my prerogative to stay positive as I live in this twenty first century
Though some didn’t expect, I choose to give respect by honoring my forefather’s memory
And since knowledge is power, I’ll use it to devour the souls of all racist people
I wont claim to be superior just not inferior you see I believe all men are created equal
So you need not fear me but you do need to hear me when I say stop the procrastination
Your ancestors the molesters, though long gone were wrong you know, so bring on the reparations!

She Said

She Said.......

She said she loved you when she knows in her heart she lied
She said she'd be different when she knows she never tried
She said she missed you when you left but instead tears of joy she cried
She said she only wanted you but her feelings for another she would always hide
She said she wanted you to tell her everything but in you she would never confide
She said she thought you were her equal but superiority is what she felt inside
She said she hoped you'd live forever together although she knows her feelings died
She said she would feed your needs because support is what she could provide
She said she'd be fresh air if it needs to be applied, instead she's carbon dioxide
She said she would be a friend til the end but once again, she has lied.

Teach The Youth

Teach The Youth

We must try to teach the youth and above all understand
That if hatred rules in the schools, it will ultimately rule man
Our children are caring guns and killing nuns for fun
Yes, mean at sixteen and sentenced to the maximum
Thrown in jail because we failed to teach them right from wrong
All day long singing a song, lifting weights to make their bodies strong
Their fantasizing, not realizing that it’s the mind that’s out of shape
Since learning leads to earning, pick up the books kids drop the weights
But children don’t understand, they’re just trying to be the man
But what they perceive to be a man is really much less than

It’s the epitome of stupidity, we need not be confused
When the trust put in us we simply choose to abuse
A sad sign of the times when we glorify crime
Cause unlike fine wine it gets worse with time

If children loved their reflection it might change their perception
It’s guaranteed to lead them in a positive direction
But sometimes we get fed up but we just can’t let up
Speak the truth to the youth say “keep your head up”
If we search in the church we’ll find the ultimate goal
To pray everyday will help cleanse our soul
If we believe we can achieve if we enhance the picture
With the word that is heard when one reads from the scripture.

Crash And Burn

Crash And Burn

Some people always seem to stay on our mind
When the truth is, they really aren't worth our time
Though I really believe we are in no way better than any man
It is clear to me that certain people are better left alone, now I understand
You see certain people misinterpret compromise for weakness in some form
Perhaps it is because it is not a everyday thing, no it simply isn't the norm
That misinterpretation is a sad mistake to make, yet many of us do
The sad part is, we know not what we do, we simply haven't got a clue
So we continue being the same and the lies remain the same
Then for some strange reason we expect the outcome to change
Well, this time the outcome changed for all eternity you see
As of today, I am proud to say, thoughts of certain people no longer consume me
I wont say the politically correct thing like, "I truly wish them well"
That is just another lie that I am simply not willing to tell
Nor do I yearn for them to crash and burn but I do hope they learn
That when they cause pain, they too must feel pain; eventually it will be their turn

We All Have A Place

 WE ALL HAVE A PLACE

Children are without a doubt God's gift to us
Nourish them encourage them; yes, I feel we must.
Teach them discipline; teach them all we know
Until it comes natural from within so as a race we'll all grow
I speak not of the black or white race but of the human race
On this earth for what it’s worth, I feel we all have a place

We must all realize children wont learn on their own
So each day of their lives they too must be shown
How to always respect thyself and love the man in the mirror
Do the same with everyone else then perhaps it’ll be clearer `
That if the concept in this poem is bought then taught
Then perhaps my friend we can end this war being fought.

A True Friend

                           A TRUE FRIEND

A true friend does not judge someone he considers a friend
A true friend is always there to lend support to someone he considers a friend
A true friend always has the best interest at heart for someone he considers a friend
A true friend will never betray the secret of someone he considers a friend
A true friend stresses the importance of faith to someone he considers a friend
A true friend always respects the privacy of someone he considers a friend
A true friend is there in time of need for someone he considers a friend
A true friend is always happy, never jealous of someone he considers a friend
A true friend not only hears from but also listens to someone he considers a friend
A true friend will be there till the end for someone he considers a friend.
